Where it all began
In 2012 Joe Strazza started to formulate a plan of creating his own organization. This may have been on his mind for years, but now it is becoming real. After leaving the Long Island Ducks Joe started thinking of what he can do to supply his kids a good organization to play for with quality coaching. He began looking for facilities and found our first facility off of Horseblock Rd. The name DBA started with Joe and his two sons scrambling to find idea for a good name until Diamond Baseball Academy fit perfectly. DBA started with just two teams at our first facility in 2013 and has grown ever since.
Growth Over the years
Being at our first facility was an amazing start, our way of getting our foot in the door. After having two strong teams one aged 14u and one aged 18u we began to create a face for DBA competing in strong tournaments. Our teams began to develop and get larger while training in our new facility. We have had many great coaches and players come through DBA to help us become better along the way. DBA was growing fast so we needed to find a new facility to fit our teams. Joe found an amazing spot that was a much better traveling and space situation for his teams. In 2018, DBA has grown to have 8 teams with roughly 80 players across the board. This forced DBA to move into a bigger facility which was our last facility located at 182 N Morris Ave. across from Island 16. Throughout our growth we have had visits from professional players such as Tim Redding. We have also had college coach camps with Jed Morris the former Eastern University Head Coach. While at our last facility we developed a Softball side of DBA which is known as Diamond Softball Academy with teams that go by Xtreme.
Who we are today
DBA has grown so much as an organization into something many will call a Family. Our teams are very close knit and quickly become friends outside of baseball. We like to believe that we are not just a baseball organization, but more than that. Parents and Players created more bonds than imaginable all from the amazing game of Baseball, spending long hours at the field for your children, going on vacations to see your kid play in other states and spending endless hours at Center Moriches complex. Today we have 10 teams with 19 coaches, 8 Baseball and 2 Softball teams. Recently we upgraded the facility again to a bigger facility right next door! We are now located at 182 Morris Ave, Holtsville NY - Building 1, Suite 2 and we could not be happier. A special component to DBA is our annual Florida Spring Training down in Del Ray Beach, Florida where the boys practice for 4 days straight and compete against high level Florida travel teams, one being the elite Elev8 team who has allowed us to use their complex to better our players.
